(Noun): A person who believes in the social, economic and political equality of the sexes.

We're on a mission to Bring Back The F Word. Feminist, that is! We live in a world where we have come a long way in terms of gender equality, but there is an overwhelming amount of evidence that suggests that we still have a very long way to go.

It's no surprise that the vast majority of people in our modern society will agree that they support gender equality. As a team, we conducted some research. We went to the sidewalks of the UNT campus to gauge students' opinion on gender equality and feminism. An overwhelming amount of students who agreed to talk to us, no surprise, said that they supported gender equality in every sense of the term. However, as our video suggests, a lot of these same people who claim to support gender equality do not identify with the feminist movement.

Why would someone who believes in gender equality choose not to identify themselves as a feminist? Does it have anything to do with the fact that the term feminist has become tainted by our society and the opposition of the movement? (i.e. feminazi)

We believe that when people shy away from the term feminist, they are hurting the movement. That is why we have committed ourselves to educating our peers to Bringing Back The F Word!

If you support gender equality, you, by definition, are a feminist!

Feminist is not a bad word.

So label yourself feminist, and be a proud one.
